Invitation letter

Dear all,

It’s my pleasure to welcome You to the “Spirit of Rakia”, 1. International Conference and exhibition about rakia. The Conference is set to take place at the Hotel Park Plaza Histria in Pula from 27th to 30th March 2019.

The project „Spirit of Rakia“ has a regional and international level and includes countries from Central and Southeastern Europe. The gathering will bring together experts from Croatia, as well as the surrounding countries and whole Europe not only as participants but as active partners. The main objective of the Conference is to build a higher level of scientific knowledge on fruit brandies and other spirit drinks in order to improve their production and promote their tourist, gastronomy and traditional value.

We are happy to report that the venue chosen provides an excellent setting for our technical, technological and scientific lectures and presentations. Although Pula is a modern city, founded 3000 years ago by the Romans, it has preserved a wonderful corners with architectural delight: Arena Amphitheatre, Triumphal Arch of the Sergi – Golden Gate etc. that makes it worthy to be the host city for the „Spirit of Rakia“ Conference.

I invite You to contribute to the Conference success with Your presence and active participation in order to acquire new professional and scientific knowledge.

With my best wishes for the superb conference,

Prof. Edi Maletić, PhD
President of the Conference
